About Us
Wanderdot is a digital platform and IRL community that connects locals around the globe through media, design, and cultural experiences.
Why We do it.
Technology and globalization have connected us more than ever, yet we are more distant than ever before. We discover communities daily on our social accounts and when visiting someplace new but fail to engage in these local communities when we do.
Tah-dah! Wanderdot attempts to speak to this globalization problem through media, design, and cultural-sharing experiences.
We bridge the gap between local communities and the people interested in them through media and digital content. More specifically, We tap into the voices often suppressed and provide a building platform for exploring tough conversations. We employ design as a tool to help us facilitate these tough conversations in a way that authentically preserves our communities and local culture because that is how we break down barriers together.
We envision the type of global community that embraces the many cultural differences that exist, but that also acknowledges that which we have in common. Like agreeing that gentrification and cultural appropriation suck. We want to live in that sort of world where we can all move forward in our own unique way without destroying the environment.
What made everyday life great pre-pandemic was the experiences that we created together in our communities with the people that matter most. That is what it’s all about. Preserving the moments, spaces, and culture in our community in order to enjoy it all together. That is what Wanderdot is all about.
